Meet Catherine Byrne, CPA

Democrat for Nevada State Controller.

Certified Public Accountant. Political Candidate. Blue Star Mom.

Liberal Views. Professional Standards.

Catherine is running to refocus the Office of the Controller on its core mission of responsibly handling the accounting needs of the State of Nevada.

My top three priorities for Nevada when you elect me as State Controller:

  1. Move Internal Audit department, which is currently under the authority of Administration to under the authority of Controller. Department of Administration is under the authority of the Governor. Same functions and accounting standards. Gain efficiencies by combining resources minimize overtime and staff fatigue.

  2. Support legislation for collective bargaining rights for state employees.

  3. Audit State vendor database for fraudulent vendors and transactions.
